Walmart is an American retail department and grocery store chain that is the world’s largest company by revenue. Sam Walton was a businessman and a former J.C. In 1945, Penney purchased a Ben Franklin Store from the Butler Brothers. In the first year, he increased sales by 45 percent by offering lower prices on products purchased from lower-cost suppliers. Sam Walton opened the first Walmart Discount City store on July 2, 1962.

The Walton family donates about 2% of its wealth to charity and other causes, whereas Warren Buffet donates 78% of his net worth and Bill Gates donates 48% of his net worth.
